Meet Dr. Cherie and Lewis Washington
Dr. Washington, a distinguished educator with 33 years, 22 in the Fort Worth Independent School District, is celebrated as a “Turn Around Leader” for her extensive experience in various leadership roles including Teacher, Principal, Chief of Schools and Chief of Student Support Services. She holds a Doctorate in Education from the University of Texas and has been honored with numerous awards, most recently the “Woman of Distinction” by DA Leadership. Together with her husband, Lewis Washington Sr., a retired educator and Principal with over 30 years of experience in improving climate and culture and academic success, they have fostered a legacy of high expectations and excellence in education, inspiring their four children, three of whom are educators, to continue this tradition.
