Meet Dr. Cherie and Lewis Washington, a dynamic duo in education with decades of transformative leadership and a shared commitment to excellence, fostering a legacy of high expectations and success in the educational field.
Dr. Washington has served in multiple districts with 22 years in the Fort Worth Independent School District. She is known as a “Turn Around Leader” whose experience ranges from Teacher, Principal, Executive Director, Assistant Superintendent and Chief of Schools. Dr. Washington received her Doctorate in Education from the University of Texas. She earned her Masters of Education in Administration from Tarleton State University and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Texas at Arlington. Dr. Washington has received numerous awards including her most recent “Woman of Distinction” awarded by DA Leadership.

Lewis Washington Sr. has over 30 years in education serving in multiple districts until retiring from Fort Worth ISD after 20 years. Lewis, known for his “Joe Clark” approach to delivering sustained stability, has a wealth of knowledge and experience in transforming school culture to improve campus safety. He has provided coaching and support to many Principals and their teams on developing and implementing systems that positively impact culture and climate. Mr. Washington received a Bachelor of Science from Texas Tech University and his Masters of Education in Administration from Texas Woman’s University.
